The Outer Borough Brass Band briefly emerged from hibernation last weekend to serve as the house band at a live podcast event called Four Interviews And A Funeral, hosted by our old friend Anna Sale. We recorded some music for Anna’s show Death, Sex & Money a few years ago, so we were a natural choice for last weekend’s event, which was a goodbye party for DSM (which is leaving WNYC at the end of the year). The live show was reviewed by The New Yorker, with a couple of nice mentions of the band. Check it out!

We happy to announce that Outerboro Brass has been asked to collaborate with the Death, Sex & Money podcast! We are going to record the soundtrack for the “In New Orleans” series looking covering the Big Easy during the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

SMITH & 9th WARD is excited and proud to be hosting a super-charged night at Red Hook’s venerable BAIT & TACKLE bar.

We all know how hard Red Hook was hit by hurricane Sandy. Bait & Tackle is back on its feet, but barely.. and we want to hit them with an amazing night of music to help get things rolling again.

We’re pulling out the stops and inviting various guests to sit in and play with us. It’s going to be off the wall. Please make an effort to come out and support.
